Food is Fuel

OK, I am back in the game.

This week was much better than last week.  I am still very solid all day during the week. I have set up a controlled environment at the office. Alex and I went shopping, the kitchen cabinets here in the office are packed full of food that makes healthy eating automatic.

I have started to eat breakfast in the office, which eliminates even more distractions.  I often stopped at a Jack in the Box on the way to work.  They have the extreme sausage sandwich.  I like it VERY much.  With hash brown sticks and a large Coke it is only 1172 calories. That is about 60% of what I am currently eating all day.

Wow, that dose not take into account any Whopper combos or any double cheeseburger snacks, or dinner, or after dinner snacks, or snacks after that. Wow, I could have been eating 5000 calories or more a day!

OK back to the story. So the office is full of healthy low calorie food and I try not to leave the office all day.

Dinner and Weekends

I went out once this week. I had a pasta dish with tomatoes and basil as the sauce.  It was OK and it did not seem to do much damage.  The rest of the nights I eat at home.

I picked up some Lean Cuisine dinners. They have some pizza that is pretty good.  I also picked up some Weight Watchers Smart Ones, they are pretty good also. All of the dinners are great at portion control, and they all run from 250 to 350 calories.

That is nice, it makes it very easy to keep track of my calorie intake. I started an account at www.fitday.com; they have a tracking program, and it is very cool. It is hard for me to get in the habit of posting the calories each time I eat.

Exercise is King

This week I went to the gym three times, went walking with Louie one time during the week.

Saturday I walked in Kendall Tenney's 5K 'Run For A Wish' and Fun Walk. It was good and we raised money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada. The weather was perfect, it was such a nice day I walked Louie around the park when Julie was at softball practice.  Every thing was great until I let him off the leash.  Actually that was still OK. It was the rabbit that caused all the problems.

On the way home I made a 50-mile detour into Arizona and Julie, Louie, and I hiked down Cranes Nest Canyon. That was a blast, it was Louie's first time in the Colorado river. He really was not sure about the whole thing.  He would only wade up to his chest. I am sure that swimming thing that dogs are known for will come in time.

Sunday I was very stiff and sour. I may have over done it on Saturday. We had a nice morning and met up with our friends for brunch. I had a egg white omelet with spinach and zucchini. It was very good, not something I would normally get, yet surprisingly good.

A very good week, I weighed in at 228 pounds. Down 3 pounds! That is a total of 20 pounds in 8 weeks or 2.5 pounds per week. My blood pressure on the other hand, is not cooperating. This week it was 145 over 104. I am not sure exactly what all that means; I just know it is not good.

If you have some insight on the blood pressure stuff leave a note. If you have any other thoughts, you can leave that too.
