Food is Fuel
Morning
I am trying to settle into a routine. Breakfast is fairly easy; I eat Quaker Weight Control oatmeal, Eggbeaters, or a Pure Protein bar. That is 300 calories or less and I am off to a good start. My first snack is very easy, I have Quaker Chewy Granola Bar that is 100 calories, or Nabisco 100 Calorie Pack, and of course that is 100 calories.
Lunch
This is also not all that bad. I eat a turkey sandwich from the deli down stairs, unknown calories, but I leave off the mayonnaise and cheese. It can't be that bad. I also go to Jason's Deli down the street; they have a great Turkey Reuben at 530 calories. Campbell's has line of soup call Select Harvest that is really good and also healthy. The whole can is only 200 calories or less. Once a week I will go to Baja Fresh and get a Chicken Bare Burrito (a burrito served in a bowl without the tortilla). It is very good and only 640 calories. My afternoon snack is the same as my morning snack most of the time. If my lunch was 500 calorie or less I will have a can of fruit in the afternoon. Del Monte Pears in light syrup is 210 calories for the entire can.
Dinner
This is my weak link. I am all over the place. I turn into a wild beast; I want to eat every thing I can get my hands on. It is very hard for me to stay on target. The late snack is also very hard. I need to find things to do out side of the house. This activity needs to take place in a venue that does not serve food. Maybe I should stay at the gym all night or go to the movies. Yes, they have food at the movies, but I am safe there. I never buy anything at the movies; all of that stuff is crazy over-priced. Some of my friends think I am nuts, I like to think that I am fiscally responsible.
Exercise is King
This week I went to the gym four times and walked Louie four times. Saturday and Sunday I went to the gym and walked Louie. All in all it was a great week. I weighed in at 230 pounds, down 4 pounds or an average of 2.57 pound per week. I also found a place to check my blood pressure. It was easy and free. There is a self-serve machine by the pharmacy in Sam's Club. I am a big fan of free. This week 154 over 95 still bad, but better than 168 over 108.
Leave me a comment, an evening activity, or a picture of you doing something fun.
